Baby It's You
Why do we call lovers baby? Why use the term for an infant to address the object of adult love? Is it bec
ause there’s nothing so precious as a child? No love so pure and all consuming. In that case it’s the highest compliment, I love you baby.
Baby It’s you
Can I find a way to get back in now
It’s been a long long long long time
But I have a notion where I’m going
And a picture in my mind
Baby it’s you
I’m looking for
Baby it’s you
That I want
Baby it’s you
I’m crying out for
Baby it’s you
That I love
I don’t like the way that I’ve been living
Treading so carefully
Over anyone who’s a reminder
Of the thing I really seek
Baby it’s you
I’m looking for
Baby it’s you
That I want
Baby it’s you
I’m crying out for
Baby it’s you
That I love
It can start to really weigh you down
When you are the only game in town
It can start to really break your heart
It’s you
I’m dying for
Baby it’s you
That I want
Baby it’s you
Baby it’s you
Baby it’s you
I’m looking for

And now I’m pondering the word “baby” and thinking of the Win, Lose, or Draw scene in “When Harry Met Sally.” I’ll try not to think about baby fish mouth when I listen. Seriously, though, I’m really looking forward to hearing the rest of the album and loving it so far.
